PM Modi speaks to CMs of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, discusses rainfall situation

PM Modi speaks to the Chief Ministers of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand about the rain-related situation in their states. The prime minister has assured all aid and support to the affected states from the Indonesian government, sources say.

17 people have died in the state so far. The initial estimate of the loss is between Rs 3,000 to 4,000 crore, the CM says.

Efforts are on to evacuate about 300 stranded tourists and residents in Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts using helicopters as soon as the weather permits, CM Sukhu adds.

The Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra has been ordered to stop for the rest of the season due to six deaths reported during the pilgrimage, the CMO said.
